  Hints about Chapter 1
  ---------------------

If you need help with the Kangaroo Rat:

When the kangaroo rat opens the door, click on him to talk
to him.  You will need to trade with him.  In order to do this, 
you must give him his eyeglasses, which the Jackalope has taken.  
The item you must trade to the kangaroo rat is a seed.  In 
return, he will give you a turquoise bead. 
               
     
If you need help with the Jackalope:

You will need to capture the Jackalope in order to get the Kangaroo 
Rat's glasses away from him.  You can do this in two ways.  One 
way is to use the hunting horn first on Valanice, to clear it, and 
then on the Jackalope's hole, to scare him out..  The other way to 
catch the Jackalope is to use the rope on one of the two cacti in 
the screen where you first emerged into the desert.  
               

If you need help with the Desert Spirit:

The Desert Spirit wanders the edges of the Endless Desert.  To find 
him, venture one or two screens out into the Endless Desert.  Do not
go too far out into the Endless Desert, or you will get lost and die.
When you see him, click on him to talk.  If you give him fresh water, 
he will give you a hint on how to leave the desert, and he will offer 
you one of two items; a rope, or some powder in a vial.  Take 
whichever one you please.  Either one will be of help to you.  After
you have chosen one of the items, walk North to leave the Endless 
Desert.  Note:  You do not have to deal with the Desert Spirit to 
complete the game.  


If you need help creating fresh water:

To create fresh water, walk to the screen with the pool of salt water 
and the water god statue.  Click on the base of the statue to see the 
formula to create fresh water.  Click Rosella's comb on Valanice to 
make her cry.  Now walk Valanice next to the water god's bowl, and use 
the comb on her again to make her cry into the water god's bowl.  Use 
the bowl in Valanice's inventory on the pool of salt water to take 
some, then use the bowl of salt water on the bowl in the water god's 
hand to pour the salt water in.  Finally, place the ear of corn in 
the water god's cupped hand.  Once the formula is complete, use 
Valanice's bowl on the water god's bowl to take the fresh water. 
               

If you don't know how to drain the pool:

To find the formula for draining the water god's pool, click on the 
petroglyphs found outside the cave.  To drain the pool, click on 
the water god's wrist to invert his bowl.  Click on the water god's 
face to turn his face around to the sun god.  Click on the water 
god's collar.  Line the turquoise stones up in the center of the 
collar, under his chin.  The pool will drain.  You can now walk to 
the bottom of the pool.  In order to take one of the turquoise pieces 
in the statue's bowl, you will first have to use the turquoise bead 
on the bowl, to trade.  If you just take a piece, you will die.  


If you can't get past the giant scorpion:

You can get rid of the giant scorpion in one of two ways.  You can 
use the vial of powder that the desert spirit could have potentially
given you to shrink him.  You can also combine the piece of 
petticoat with the stick in inventory to create a flag, then use the 
flag on him to induce him to stick his tail in the wall.  If you use 
this method, however, you must hurry while inside the temple, 
because the scorpion will eventually pull his tail loose and kill 
you.  
               

For help with the altar in the scorpion's temple:

First, click on the upside-down raindrop on the front of the altar 
to release the stones.  Click on the red stone to take it.  Click 
the red stone on the image of the sun on top of the altar to place 
it in the hollow there.  Click on the yellow stone.  Click the 
yellow stone on one of the altar statue's hands.  Click on the blue 
stone.  Click the blue stone on the other of the altar statue's 
hands.  When the turquoise piece emerges from the altar, click on it 
to take it.  


If you can't get out of the desert:

You must exit the desert through the mouth of the giant stone head.  
To open the mouth, you must combine the two halves of the turquoise 
keys in inventory, then click the complete turquoise key on the 
arrow-shaped lip plug on the stone head.  If you have two halves of 
the key in inventory and they do not fit together, one of them is 
not the real key.  You must go back down into the bottom of the 
water god's well and trade the false key for the real key.  
If you find yourself lost in the desert, go north.  You will 
eventually run into the cliffs.  Now all you have to figure out is 
whether you are east or west of the main playing area.  Try one 
direction.  If you don't find the main play area fairly soon, try 
the reverse.  If you die, you will be restored back to the screen 
where you left off.
               

List of chapter 1 inventory items and where they are found:

In the desert you can find a piece of petticoat, a stick, the 
kangaroo rat's glasses, a hunting horn, rope, bug reducing powder, 
a basket, a pot, a kernel of corn, a grain of salt, jackalope fur, 
a gourd seed, a turquoise bead, an ear of corn, a false half of the 
turquoise key, and the two true halves of the turquoise key.  The 
kangaroo rat's glasses are taken from the Jackalope.  The hunting 
horn is found by the desert spirit's body, two screens south of 
the scorpion temple.  The rope is given to you by the desert spirit.
The rope and the hunting horn are mutually exclusive.  The bug 
reducing powder is given to you by the desert spirit.  The basket 
and the pot are found in the cave.  The kernel of corn is found in 
the basket.  The gourd seed is found in the dried gourd by the cave 
entrance.  The turquoise bead is given to you by the kangaroo rat 
in exchange for his glasses.  The ear of corn is created when you 
use the corn kernel on the damp sand found outside the cave 
entrance.  The grain of salt is on the edge of the pool of salt 
water.  The jackalope fur is next to the spot where you trapped 
him.  The false turquoise key is found in the bowl of the statue 
at the bottom of the pool.  One half of the real turquoise key 
is found in the bowl of the statue at the bottom of the pool.  
The other half of the key is found in the altar inside the 
scorpion temple.               


  Hints about Chapter 2
  ---------------------


If you can't get past the cook, or you've forgotten the list of 
ingredients Mathilde gave you:

To get rid of the cook, use the mechanical rat on him.  He will 
chase it into the pantry.  If you've forgotten the list of 
ingredients, just click on Mathidle.  She will tell it to you 
again.  For help with the metalsmithing troll, or if you have all 
of the ingredients Mathilde told you to get and you're not sure 
what to do. You will have to get rid of the metalsmithing troll in 
order to get the silver spoon and the spark.  To get rid of him, 
use the wet sulfur on the forge.  That will put him to sleep.  Once 
you have all of your ingredients, click on Mathilde.  She will tell 
you what to do. 
                

If you don't know how to get the silver spoon:

The silver spoon is inside the mold.  To get the mold, you must first 
put the metalsmithing troll to sleep.  Click on the tongs to take them.  
Click the tongs on the mold.  Click the mold and tongs on the bucket of 
water.  Now click on the bucket of water to take the silver spoon. 
          

If you can't get past the bridge troll:

To get past the bridge troll, you must fix the three-wheeled cart and ride it 
down the hill in order to knock him off the bridge.  To fix the cart, click on 
it to pull it out of the mud.  Examine the shield in inventory.  Click on the 
shield spike to unscrew it.  Exit the inventory close-up.  Use the shield on 
the cart.  Use the spike on the cart to hold the shield in place.  Click on 
the cart twice more to ride it down the hill. 


For help with the crystal dragon:

You must get one of the crystal dragon's scales.  In order to do that, you 
must first give her a spark.  To get a spark, click on the bellows in the 
forging room to stoke the forge.  Click the lantern on the forge to get a 
spark.  You can only do this after you have put the metalsmith troll to sleep.  
Use the lantern with spark on the dragon.  She will give you a gem, and fly 
away.  Use the gem on the jeweler.  He will give you a hammer and chisel.  
Return to the crystal dragon's cave.  Use the hammer and chisel on the crystal 
dragon to get a scale.   Be sure to wait till her tail is on the ground.
          

If you are trapped in the bedroom and you can't get out:

To get out of the bedroom, you must exit through a hidden steam tunnel.   Click 
on the portrait of the troll king to see steam.  Click on the nightstand to 
get a nightstand cursor.  Click the nightstand on the ground below the 
portrait to place it there.  Click on the vanity chair.  Click the vanity 
chair on top of the nightstand.  Click on the footstool.  Click the footstool 
on top of the vanity chair, and you will climb out of the room. 
               

If you are now human, but Mathilde won't talk to you:

To get Mathilde's help after becoming human, you must use the dragon toad on 
her.  She will then give you the rope which you can use on the bucket elevator 
to escape the Vulcanix Underground. 


If you can't get past Malicia:

To get past Malicia, use the mechanical rat on her.  She will vanish.  Proceed 
to the bucket elevator, use the rope on it to fix it, and leave the 
underground. 


List of the inventory items in chapter 2 and where they are found:

In chapter 2, you can find a mechanical rat, baked beetles, a gold bowl, a 
brass bowl, wet sulfur, a lantern, a silver spoon, water of emerald, a big 
gem, a hammer and chisel, a spark, a crystal dragon scale, a shield, and a 
dragon toad.  The mechanical rat is left in the Great Hall by a troll child.  
The baked beetles, brass bowl, and gold bowl are in the kitchen.  You have no 
need for the brass bowl, and you can tell the two bowls apart by reading the 
stamp on the bottom of each of them in inventory.  The wet sulfur and the 
lantern are found in the pit of winds screen, north of the metalsmithing 
screen.  The silver spoon is found inside a mold in the metalsmithing area.  
The water of emerald is found in the pit of winds screen, and can be obtained 
by clicking the gold bowl on the rock formation which contains water of 
emerald.  The big gem is given to you by the dragon in exchange for the spark.  
The hammer and chisel is given to you by the jeweler in exchange for the big 
gem.  The spark is found in the metalsmithing forge.  The crystal dragon scale 
is taken from the crystal dragon.  The shield is on the wall in the Great 
Hall. The Dragon Toad is on the floor of the Great Hall, knocked down by you 
when you first enter that room as a human, through the steam tunnel above the 
throne. 
          

Hints about Chapter 3
---------------------

If you can't get past the Gila monster in the desert, or you can't get 
past the spider in the woods:

To get past the Gila monster, you must give him the prickly pear.  To get the 
prickly pear, use the stick on the prickly pear cactus outside the stone head 
to knock one loose.  To get past the spider in the woods, use the basket on 
him to capture him.  Click on the hummingbird to free her. 


For help with the stag, or of you don't know how to wake the rock spirit:

Talk to the stag as much as you can.  You will get a lot of valuable 
information from him.  To wake the rock spirit, use the feather on his nose.  
He will not talk to you if you have not talked to the stag about him.  You 
can wait, and wake the rock spirit in chapter five if you wish. 


If you can't find the sacred nectar:

You cannot get sacred nectar until after you have captured the spider and saved 
the hummingbird.  After that, click on the nectar flowers found on the cliff 
in the Statue Maidens woods screen.  When the hummingbird asks you for a 
vessel, click the pot on the flowers or on Valanice.  The hummingbird will 
give you nectar.  Use the nectar on the stone maiden's pitcher to start the 
river flowing.  You can only do this after you  have spoken with the rock 
spirit.  You can wait to start the river until chapter 5, if you wish. 
          

If you can't get through the gate into Falderal, or you can't get past
the Arch-Duke:

To get past the gate and into Falderal, simply click on the little red door
to the right of the big gate.  To get past the Arch-Duke, click Rosella's
comb on him. 


For help with the Snake Oil Salesman:

You must talk to the Snake Oil Salesman in order to get the salve from him that 
will allow you to cross the were-forest.  If you have spoken to the stag in 
the woods, just click on the salesman, and you will tell him what you want.  
If you have not talked to the stag, use Rosella's comb on the salesman to tell 
him what you want. 


If you can't get into Town Hall, or if you can't get the China Bird:

To get into Town Hall, you must first have a mask.  The mask is found in the 
china shop.  To get the mask, you must give the china shop owner his china 
bird.  The china bird is in the cage next to the Snake Oil Salesman's wagon.  
You MUST talk to the china shop owner before you try to rescue her, or she 
will scream, and you will fail.  Click on the cage once to uncover it.  Click 
on it again to open the cage door.  Click on the china bird to take her. 


If you can't find the Magic Statuette:

The Magic Statuette is in the Arch-Duke's office, inside the Town Hall.  First, 
enter the Town Hall.  Go through the doorway at the back of the room to enter 
the stairs.  Make your way to the door which is rightside-up; that is the 
powder room.  Click on the mirror which shows Valanice's image upside-down 
to enter the Arch-Duke's study.  If you enter the Arch-Duke's study through the 
upside-down door, you will be unable to get the statuette, and you will still 
have to enter through the powder room.  Once you are in the Arch-Duke's office 
right-side-up, click on his desk drawer to open it.  Click on the statuette to 
take it. 
          

If you can't get the moon out of the pond:

To get the moon out of the pond, you will need a shepherd's crook.  To get the 
crook, you must go the desert, and trade a book to the kangaroo rat.  To get 
the book. take the wooden nickel in the mockingbird's nest, and purchase a 
book in the Faux Shop.  The mockingbird will fly away after the moon falls
into the pond.


List of chapter 3 inventory items and where they can be found:

In chapter three, you can find a prickly pear, salt, jackalope fur, sacred nectar, 
a china bird, a mask, a magic statuette, a wooden nickel, a book, a shepherd's 
crook, a rubber chicken, a feather, and the moon.  The prickly pear is in the 
desert next to the stone head.  The salt is in the desert on the edge of the 
pool of salt water.  The jackalpe fur is next to the spot where you trapped 
him in chapter 1, but only if you didn't take it before.  The sacred nectar 
is in the flowers on the cliffs of the statue maidens woods screen.  You don't 
have to get the nectar until chapter five. The china bird is in Falderal, 
next to the snake oil salesman's wagon.  The mask is in the china shop; the 
china shop owner will give it to you when you give him the china bird.  The 
magic statuette is in the Arch-Duke's office in the Town Hall.  The wooden 
nickel is in the mockingbird's nest, after the moon falls.  The book is in 
the Faux Shop.  You can purchase it with the wooden nickel.  The shepherd's 
crook is in the desert.  You can trade the book to the kangaroo rat to get 
it.  The rubber chicken is in the Faux Shop.  You can trade the mask for it, 
but you don't have to do that until chapter 5.  The feather is on the 
backside of the rubber chicken.  The moon is in the pond.  You must get it 
out with the crook. 


Hints about Chapter 4
---------------------


(1)  Before rescuing the Troll King
     ------------------------------

If the elevator collapsed and killed you:

When the gravedigger holds out his shovel to you, click on it, and he will save 
you. 


If you need help with the gravedigger:

Talk to the gravedigger as much as you can.  If you give him his rat, he will 
dig a hole for you. 
          

For help with the coroner:

Knock on the door of the "haunted house" building with the wrought iron fence.  
When the coroner invites you in, talk to him as much as possible.  You will 
learn that he needs a backbone.  If you give him a backbone, he will give you 
a weird pet, which you can trade to the ghoul kids for the gravedigger's rat. 


If you need help with the ghoul kids' treehouse:

You can only enter the ghoul kids' treehouse when they are not home.  Enter the 
house by clicking on the elevator.  Sometimes when you get into the treehouse, 
one of the ghoul kids will get you.  There is nothing you can do about that.  
If you are in the house and you hear the ghoul kids coming, click on the 
window to jump out. 


If you can't get the rat from the ghoul kids:

To get the rat from the ghoul kids, click the weird pet on them when they are
outside on the deck of their house.  They will agree to trade.  Put the weird 
pet on the elevator, but DO NOT go up there yourself.  They will kill you if 
you do. Be sure to listen carefully to the ghoul kids' chant.  It will give 
you some important information about the boogeyman. 


If you can't get the cat out of the coffin:

Use your hammer and chisel on the cat's coffin to free her.  When she is out,
talk to her as much as possible.  She will tell you that King Otar is hidden
beneath the deadfall, which is the large pile of brush and sticks. 


If you know where King Otar is, but you don't know how to get to him:

To reach King Otar, blow the horn the gravedigger gave to you when you are
standing next to the deadfall, which is the large pile of brush and sticks.  
Make sure the snake-shaped branch on the tree is pointing down, or the 
boogeyman will come out and get you.  Once the gravedigger has created a 
hole, click on it to climb in. 


If you don't know the combination of the lock on the coffin-closet:

The combination to the lock on the coffin-closet was written on the coroner's
house, and on the burned-out mansion.  The combination is skull, bat, spider. 


If you are trapped in the coffin-closet and you don't know what to do:

If you are stuck in the coffin-closet with King Otar, you must first show him
the dragon toad.  When he shows you the jewel on his bracelet, use your 
hammer and chisel on it to pop it loose.  Do these things quickly, or the deadfall 
people will get you. 


(2)  After rescuing the Troll king
     -----------------------------
     

If you are trapped in Ooga Booga land:

If you are trapped in Ooga Booga land after freeing the Troll King, go back to
the Coroner's house and talk to him as much as possible.  He will tell you the 
way out.  You can't get past the swamp monster until after you have freed King 
Otar.  When you go to see the Coroner, he will give you a defoliant.  Use the 
defoliant on the swamp monster when it attacks you. 


If you can't get through the were-woods:

If you can't get past the were-bear, you must combine the silver pellet and the
woolen stocking in inventory to make a sling.  Use the sling on the were-bear 
to get rid of him. 


If you can't get the flower that is next to the carnivorous plants:

To get the flower that is next to the carnivorous plants, you must use the
foot-in-a-bag on the carnivorous plants.  The foot is from the ghoul kids' 
treehouse. 


If you don't know how to get into Malicia's house:

If you can't get into Malicia's house, you must go around to the back.  Click
on the vines growing next to her house to move them.  Use the gravedigger's 
shovel on the hole under the house to enlarge it.  Click on the hole to climb 
in.  Make sure you do this when Malicia's lights are out and she is not home, 
or she will kill you as soon as you get in. If her dog is barking, she is not 
home.  If it is barking, then she is home.


If Malicia keeps killing you as soon as you enter her house:

Once you get into the house, you will hear Malicia coming.  Click on the 
floorboard to duck down before she enters the room.  If you have no chance to 
duck down, it is because you entered the house when Malicia was home.  Wait 
until her lights are out to enter.  Wait until her dog is not barking to 
enter.


If Malicia's dog is giving you away, or if you can't find the Device in
Malicia's house:

When the dog sniffs you through the knothole, use the defoliant on the dog.  
When Malicia leaves, click on the bottom drawer of her dresser to find the 
Mysterious Device.  You will have to click on the drawer several times to find 
it.  Be sure to put back her undergarments and close the drawer before you 
leave, or she will find you.  Leave the way you came; through the floorboards.  


If you can't find the gate to the Underground in Falderal, or if you've
found the gate and you don't know how to open it:

The portal is in the powder room in the town hall of Falderal.  To reach the
powder room, enter the town hall, go through the door at the back to enter the 
stairs, and make your way to the rightside-up door.  Once you are in the 
powder room, click on the base of the cherub statue.  Click the woolen 
stocking on the base of the statue to wipe off the tarnish.  Use the hammer 
and chisel on the golden grape in the right corner to take it.  Use the grape 
on the cherub. 


If you've got the gate partway open and it's stuck:

If you have partially opened the gate but it has become stuck, use the
Magic Wand on the scarab in inventory to turn the Troll King into 
himself.  He will pry the gate open.  Click on the opening in the floor to 
follow him to the Underground. 


List of chapter four inventory items and where they are found:


In chapter four, you can find a backbone, a foot-in-a-bag, a weird pet, the 
   gravedigger's rat,  the gravedigger's horn, a life, the troll king in the form 
   of a scarab, the Magic Wand, a black veil, defoliant, a woolen stocking, the 
   magical Defense Device, and a golden grape.  The backbone and 
   the foot are found in the ghoul kids' treehouse.  The weird pet is given to 
   you in exchange for the backbone.  The gravedigger's rat is given to you by 
   the ghoul kids in exchange for the weird pet.  The gravedigger's horn is given 
   to you by the gravedigger in exchange for his rat.  The life is given to you 
   by the black cat.  The troll king puts himself and the transformation wand 
   into your inventory after you rescue him.  The veil is created by the troll 
   king when you rescue him.  The defoliant is given to you by the coroner.  The 
   woolen stocking and defense device are inside Malicia's house.  The golden 
   grape is in the powder room in Falderal. 



  Hints about Chapter 5
  ---------------------


(1)  In Falderal, the Woods, or Ooga Booga
     -------------------------------------

If you don't know how to return the moon to the sky:

To return the moon to the sky, use the rubber chicken on the "Y" shaped branch
on the Mockingbird's tree.  Use the moon on the rubber chicken once it is in 
place. 
          

If you don't know how to wake the rock spirit:

You must first talk to the stag before you try to wake the rock spirit.  After
talking to the stag, use the feather on the rock spirit's nose to wake him. 
         


If you don't know where to get sacred nectar:

To get sacred nectar, click on the nectar flowers on the cliff in the statue
maidens woods room.  When the hummingbird asks you for a vessel, click the 
pot on the flowers or on Valanice.  Use the nectar on the statue's pitcher. You
can only do this last step after you have spoken with the rock spirit.
         
If you don't know where to find sacred food:

You can only get sacred food in Etheria.  Click on the tree on the plateau next
to the cave entrance on the Mountain of Winds to climb it.  Click on the 
ambrosia to take some.  When you have it, go back to the woods and use it on 
the statue's cornucopia. 


If you have started the river and the cornucopia but Ceres is still a tree:

If you have started the cornucopia but Ceres is still a tree, click on the
cornucopia to take the pomegranate from the top.  Use the pomegranate on the 
oak tree.  She will transform into Ceres. 


If you can't get through the were-woods:

You cannot get through the were-woods until after you have the were-beast
salve, given to you by the snake oil salesman in exchange for the magic 
statuette.  When you get to the edge of the were-woods, combine the salve with 
the jackalope hair in inventory, and then use the salve on yourself. 


If you need help with the black dog:

The black dog will not talk to you until you give him a bone.  You can find the
bone in the ghoul kids' treehouse.  You can only go into the treehouse when 
they are not home.  If you hear them coming, click on the window to jump out.  
After you give the black dog the bone, talk to him as much as you can.  He 
will give you the Headless Horseman's medal. 


If you can't find the horseman's head:

The Horseman's head is in his tomb, which is guarded by the Woman in Black.
Use the medal given to you by the black dog to get rid of her.  Go to the 
ghoul kids' treehouse to find a firecracker.  Quickly walk back to the tomb 
with the firecracker and jam it into the lock.  Do not hold on to the 
firecracker too long, or it will blow you up.  Once the lock is broken, enter 
the tomb.  Click on the sarcophagus to open it.  Click on the open sarcophagus 
to take the skull. 


If you have the head and don't know how to give it to him:

Once you have the skull, go outside the tomb and stand in the road.  When the
horseman is riding toward you, on the ground, not in the sky, use the skull on 
him.  He will not respond if you use the skull on him from the side of the 
road, and if you do not use the skull on him quickly enough from the middle of
the road, he will run over you. 


(2)  Hints about Chapter 5 in Etheria and Dreamland
     ----------------------------------------------

If you can't find anyone to talk to in Etheria:

Once you are in Etheria, you must talk to the Three Fates.  They live in the 
gazing ball in the garden. 


If you can't get into the three fates' ball:

To enter the gazing ball, you must play the musical entry code on the strings
of the harp.  To hear the music, you must lure one of the dragonettes in the 
meadow close to you.  You can do this by using ambrosia on the dragonettes.  
You can hear the music as many times as you want by repeating this process.  
Enter the fate's ball as many times as you want.  If you truly need their 
help, they will talk to you when you click on them. 


If you need help sleeping:

If you have talked to the three fates and they have told you that you must
sleep to enter Dreamland, slide down the rainbow to Ooga Booga land.  Knock 
on the Coroner's door.  Talk to him to tell him your problem, then click on 
the coffin to ask to sleep there.  After your dream, go talk to the three 
fates. 


If you can't get past the nightmare monster outside the cave:

If you've been to Dreamland once and you can't get past the nightmare monster
by the dream weaver's cave, you must first talk to the three fates.  They will 
give you a dream catcher.  Use the dream catcher on the monster to trap on it. 
               

If you need help with the Dream Weaver:

Click the cursor on the Dream Weaver to get his attention.  Then click the dream
catcher on the Dream Weaver to get him to talk to you.  Click on the dream 
weaver to talk to him as many times as possible.  He will give you the 
Tapestry of Dreams, which will allow you to enter Dreamland while awake. 
               

If you don't know how to thaw Mab:

If you have seen Mab frozen, you must go to Ceres to find out how to thaw her.
Click on Ceres to ask her about your problem.  She will tell you to use a 
crystal shaft filled with sunlight on Mab.  She will also tell you that you 
must travel to Dreamland while awake to do this.  Get the crystal shaft from 
Malicia's house. Fill the crystal shaft with sunlight from the inside of the 
desert temple.  


If you're having trouble in Malicia's house:

You must enter Malicia's house to get the crystal shaft.  Enter the house
through the tunnel in the back.  Check to make sure the dog is not barking 
first.  When Malicia comes in, click on the floorboard to duck down.  When the 
dog sniffs you, use ambrosia on it to get rid of it.  Enter the room and take 
the shaft after Malicia leaves. 


If you need help while in Dreamland, or if you need help catching Scirocco:

Use the Tapestry of Dreams to go to Dreamland while awake.  If you are attacked
by a nightmare monster in Dreamland, use the dream catcher on it.  If you 
drown in the dream sea, click to swim.  Swim to any edge of the screen.  After 
you have thawed Mab, she will give you a magic bridle.  To catch Scirocco, go 
to the plateau by the cave on the mountain of winds, back up against the wall, 
and click the bridle on him when he flies past. 


List of chapter 5 inventory objects and where they are found:

In Chapter 5, you can find a rubber chicken, a feather, sacred nectar,
ambrosia, a pomegranate, a bone, a medal, the headless horseman's skull, the 
horseman's horn, the dream catcher, the tapestry of dreams, a crystal shaft, 
and a magic bridle.  Get the rubber chicken by trading the mask to the faux 
shop owner.  The feather is on the backside of the rubber chicken.  The sacred 
nectar is in the flowers on the cliffs of the statue maidens screen.  The 
ambrosia is in Etheria.  The pomegranate is in the cornucopia after you have 
used the ambrosia on it.  The bone is in the ghoul kid's treehouse.  The medal 
is given to you by the black dog.  The horseman's skull is in his tomb.  The 
horseman's horn is given to you by the horseman himself.  The dream catcher 
is given to you by the three fates.  The tapestry of dreams is given to you by 
the dream weaver.  The crystal shaft is found in Malicia's house.  The magic 
bridle is given to you by Mab.


  Hints about Chapter 6
  ---------------------

If you can't tell which troll king is real and which is fake:

To find out which troll king is real and which is false, look at their eyes.
The false troll king's eyes are green; the real troll king's eyes are purple. 
               

If you don't know how to transform the false troll king into his true form:

Look at the troll king's magic wand in inventory.  It has a setting
for humans, and a setting for trolls.  You can tell how the wand is set by 
looking at the top of the ball, it will have either the letter "T" or the 
letter "F" on it. Change the setting to faeries by clicking on the bottom of 
the magic wand, and then use the wand on the false troll king.


If you're trapped in the volcano cone and you don't know what to do:

To get out of the volcano cone, use the shovel on the back wall of the ledge.
You will dig through.  Be warned:  Act very quickly form this moment on.  You 
are on a timer.


If you don't know how to open the mechanical room door:

To enter the mechanical room door, click on the features in the following
order:  left eye, right eye, nose. 
               

If you don't know how to wake the Troll King:

You must use a fragrant flower on the troll king to awaken him.
          

If you don't have a flower in your inventory, or if you've found the
flower but you don't know how to get it:

You can get a fragrant flower from the tunnel that branches off before you
reach the mechanical room door.  To reach the flower, use the shovel on the 
stone that is embedded in the wall.  Click on the stone to stand on it, then 
click on the flower. 
          

If the troll king has stopped the volcano but Malicia is attacking you:

You must use the Mysterious Device you got in Malicia's house on Malicia now.


If you tried to use the Defense Device on Malicia and it didn't work:

For the device to work, it must be plugged in as soon as you enter the
mechanical room for the first time, before you even wake the troll king.  If 
you do not charge it at all, or if you do not charge it for a long enough 
period of time, it will not work.   The plug is on the far left wall of the 
room.


If you've defeated Malicia but Edgar is dead:

You must use the life the cat gave you on Edgar to save him.
