Hi there folks, this is a FAQ of (]=-The@N-=[), known as TheaN on Gamefaqs 
messageboards. My real name is Arno Middelkoop and i'm from the Netherlands. 
Well, that for the my introduction, on to the subject of this FAQ:

Simply said, a guide on all characters of Commandos 2: Men of Courage.
Their special abilities, but most important, strategies on how to use it.
The FAQ isn't that big, it gives you standard advise on how to use 
special abilities the best way.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
These are seen as normal abilities:
- Punch
- Tie Up
- Hit with bottle
- Use MP40, Rifle and Colt.
- Throw cigarettes/bottles/food.
- Use Whiskey's flute.
- Change to enemy soldier suit.
- Use medkits/food cans.

3.1			      The Green Beret

Special Abilities:
- Knife
- Bury in
- Radio/Transmitter

Can't use:
- Can use all normal weapons and abilities.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strategies:
- Bury In: As the Green Beret has a normal use, he knows a way to not be 
  seen, Bury in. Use it when you know you are seen by the enemy to avoid 
  detection. Unless he gets out you can't do anything with him.
- Knife: It works the same as Punching + Tie Up, but this is fatal, and 
  makes more sound. Don't use unless a quick kill is needed.
- Radio: This device gets your enemy attention, so they will all go towards 
  the radio. Nice with grenades or mines.

Can best be combined with Commando(s): 
- Spy or Sapper. Then they can give a silent, but also hard way to disable
  the enemy.

3.2				The Sniper

Special Abilities:
- Sniper Rifle

Can't use:
- Can use all normal weapons and abilities.

Strategies:
- One Special Ability, but he's one of the best. If you have enough ammo,
  your enemy isn't save. Shoot out of Towers and Windows to make an 
  excellent approach.

Can best be combined with Commando(s): 
- Any shoot command. This means all. Set others on guard and select the
  Sniper to remove complete armies.

3.3				  Diver	
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Special Abilities:
- Diver suit/No air needed underwater
- Harpoon
- Entering Hook
- Throwing Knives
- Inflated Boat

Can't use:
- Can use all normal weapons and abilities.

Strategies:
- Suit/Harpoon: He's unbeatable underwater. Nice to go on land sneaky, 
  and get in a building with the Hook.
- To bad the game hasn't so much water.
- Boat: His boat isn't that good. Although you can make a nice escape 
  with it.

Can best be combined with Commando(s): 
- Solo usage. Because anyone else need Oxygen, the Diver mostly works on 
  his own.
- Although they can all use the Hook once it's on it's place to get in.

3.4				  Sapper
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Special Abilities:
- Use any type of explosives: Grenades, Timed Bombs, Tank Turrets, Mines,
  Bazookas and Remote Bombs
- Detect any defuse mines
- Cut wires

Can't use:
- Can use all normal weapons and abilities.
- He's very slow.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strategies:
- He will be the commander of your team most of the times. He's the one
  who blows it all up, opens the way and removes the traps.
- Grenades are very handy with troop concentrations.
- Watch out with the Timed Bomb, be out in time.
- Take as many mines as you can, you don't know how much you're going to
  use.
- Many men in a little hut? Throw a grenade inside.
NOTE: When defusing a mine, defusing it again once the defusing starts to
complete it early.

Can best be combined with Commando(s): 
- Green Beret. Bring them all together with Beret's radio, one grenade 
  and... boom.

3.5				  Driver

Special Abilities:
- Use Molotovs
- Command special vehicles
- Use trap wire
- Use trap

Can't use:
- Can use all normal weapons and abilities.

Strategies:
- Molotovs work almost the same as grenades with one disadvantage: the 
  soldiers burn up, so no equipment. Use grenades if possible.
- The Driver is nice for some vehicles, like the Rhino Tank, although 
  there are not much.
- Wire soldiers is very, very nice.
- The traps mean kill, so works the same as a mine. If needed, do it.

Can best be combined with Commando(s): 
- Sapper in a Rhino. Otherwise he works alone.

3.6				   Spy

Special Abilities:
- Disquise as any enemy rank: Soldier, Lieutenant, Commander, Commander 
  in Chief.
- In rank Lieutenant or above orders can be given.
- Use Syringe.

Can't use:
- Punch.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strategies:
- IMO the best commando. Once you get your hands on a Commanders Suit 
  you're unstoppable.
- Commands:	(YOU) Lieutenant -> (ENEMY) Lieutenant 	= Only attention
		(YOU) Lieutenant -> (ENEMY) Soldier	= Look there
		(YOU) Commander  -> (ENEMY) Lieutenant	= Look there 
		(YOU) Commander	 -> (ENEMY) Soldier	= Look there/Walk 
  Against any commander of the enemy he'll be detected, even if he has a
  Commander suit on. As soldier you aren't able to talk, but you're not 
  detected unless it's a Commander.
- Distract enemy to let them look at another location, then hit them with
  someone else.
- Use Syringe really when needed, if you've someone that can Punch, use
  that instead. If you use it, use 2 to knock the person out.
- Syringe usage:	1 Syringe	=	Unstable, return in 2 sec.
			2 Syringes	=	Knocked out, can be tied 
						up.
			3 Syringes	=	Instant kill.

Can best be combined with Commando(s): 
- Anyone with Punch, prever Thief. The "Punch" guy hits the enemy once
  they're distracted. The Thief is faster than others, so best to use
  to knock a distracted opponent out.

3.7				 Natasha
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Special Abilities:
- Disquise as attractive woman (by default).
- Use lipstick to distract them only to Natasha.
- Can use Sniper Rifle on the field.

Can't use:
- Punch and Tie Up (!!!).
- Sniper Rifle out of Windows.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strategies:
- Distract them to let them be knocked out.
- She has free passage, just like the Spy in Commander Suit. With the same
  exception too, with a Commander she's detected.
- With only Natasha you won't get far, no Punch and no Tie Up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can best be combined with Commando(s):
- Any Puncher who can tie up too. Nice results, but almost the same and 
  even weaker than the Spy.
- Or the Sniper, to of course get a double result.

3.8				The Thief
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Special Abilities:
- Climb on buildings, through windows, behind walls, under beds and on
  poles.
- Sneak up on enemy and take stuff.
- Ultimate running speed (ultimate sound too).
- Lockpick almost any lock. He's the only one who can open silver boxes.

Can't use:
- Tie Up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strategies:
- Hit and run if with nobody else.
- With someone who can Tie Up: run towards the enemy and knock down. He's
  really that fast.
- Sneak into and inside buildings.

Can best be combined with Commando(s):
- All other than Natasha, which makes the first mission very difficult.
- The Thief can make fast results if with the Spy.

Special Abilities:
- Bark
- No enemy of the enemy
- Detects mines

Can't use:
- All, come on it's a dog.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strategies:
- Use Whiskey's whistle to bring stuff from the one to another Commando.
- A nice helper with mines. Put him in the middle of a mine field and let
  the Sapper do the rest.
- Because the enemy isn't seeing him as an enemy, it's Bark can be used 
  all the time.

Can best be combined with Commando(s):
- The Sapper with mines, all with transport.

Bad:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Whiskey:	No abilities.
- Natasha:	Can't knock out or tie up.
- Driver:	No real special abilities, and not many tanks at your 
		disposal.
- Diver:	Not much water, because with it he's master.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Green Beret:	A combination of all abilities, he's the inbetween.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Thief:	Very fast and versatile
- Sniper:	Ultimate killer
- Sapper:	You can't miss explosives
- Spy:		Infiltrate and command your enemy
