You have the needed amount of renown to get the upgrades to your sub or to
change your U-boat model use the following procedure:
You have to be in the base after a mission for this cheat to work.
Enter the "..\sh3\data\cfg\careers\" folder. Select the name of the folder
that is the same as the career that you are using. Use a text editor to edit
the file "Patrols_0.cfg". Scroll down to your last mission details and change
the amount of DeltaRenown that you got paid.
Example: (DeltaRenown=498.750000 Change to DeltaRenown=6500.750000)
Save the file and start the game. You can now buy what you like in the game.
Enter the "..\sh3\data\cfg\careers\" folder. Select the name of the folder that
is the same as the career that you are using. Use a text editor to edit the
Microsoft Office Outlook config file in that folder. Scroll down to your last
mission details and change the amount of reowns that you got paid.
* Save the file and start the game. You can now buy the biggest and hardest subs
in the game.
Note: Enter the "\ubisoft\silenthunterIII\data" folder. This folder contains all
the information on the subs, ships, ammo, etc. Look through the folders. To make
aircraft less dangerous, go into "air" and into the aircraft folder. Find the
".eqp" file, and delete it. This removes the bombs, etc. which the plane carries.
In the "sea" folder is all the information about surface ships.
Delete the equipment files for all the allied warships and cargo ships. This makes
the ships totally non combatant. The only thing to watch out for is being rammed.
In the "cfg" folder, find "Basic". Open it with a text editor and scroll down.
In that file is the bonus renown you receive from the naval academy, the costs
of the upgrades and new subs, and the loadout of the subs.
Edit the values as desired.
Keep progress in career mode after being killed:
If youve ever been killed in the career mode, youll notice that you wont be able
to access your user again (because hes dead). however, you can bypass this very
easily. once you die, the summary screen will show up saying that youve died,
and what you sunk, but do not continue. by continuing, the game will save this
info and lock you out. instead, close the game. get out of the game by pressing
[Alt] + [tab], or the windows key so that you are at the desktop.
Now press [Ctrl + [Alt] + [Delete], or right click on the taskbar and click on
task manager (may vary for different operating systems). find the silent hunter
process in the process tab and click the end process button. silent hunter will
close. you can now close the task manager, and open the game up again.
when you get back into career mode, youll be back at the start of the mission
you were on.
